Replace or request a card

Need to replace a damaged, lost, or stolen card or request a new one? Here’s how.

It's easy to replace a card right from your account. This works whether your card is damaged, lost, stolen, or you just want a different one.

If your card hasn't been activated yet

You’ll need to select Deactivate Card before requesting a new card. For example, you may need to do this if the card was sent to the wrong address. Before requesting a new card, please confirm the address we have on file is correct.

How to replace a physical or virtual card:

  • Select Cards.

  • Select Request New Card beneath the physical or virtual card you want to replace.

  • Select a reason (lost, stolen, damaged, or other) and Request Card.

Locking cards

If you prefer to lock your card before requesting a new one, see “Lock or unlock your card”.

Your old card is deactivated right away

Requesting a new card cancels your old one and issues a replacement, so the card being replaced can no longer be used.

Your other cards, including any dependent or virtual cards, stay active.

If you’re taking this action because a card you requested hasn’t arrived yet, the original card won’t work even if it arrives. Use the new card instead.

How to request a physical or virtual card:

  • Select Cards.

  • Select Request Physical Card or Request Virtual Card located where the image of the card would be.

  • These options will only be available if your program offers physical or virtual cards.

Virtual card delivery timelines

Virtual cards are issued as soon as they’re created, with no mailing required.

  • If your program issues virtual cards automatically, your card is issued when you enroll.

  • If your program lets you request a virtual card, it’s issued right after you submit your request.

Physical card delivery timelines

New physical cards typically take 7-10 business days to be delivered.

Card activation

To learn how to activate your card, see “Activate your card in Health Wallet."
